Success experiment: Khweng community member reaps new tomato variety
In the month of August 2020, as part of the ALC experiment, she observed a single young tomato shoot (different variant) sprouting in a spot where different tomato seeds were sowed in her kitchen garden. She removed the plantlet from its original place and sowed it in a different plot where the soil has been enriched with biomass, wood ash and animal manure and also receives ample of good sunlight. Eri-Weaves training concludes in Khweng (Ri-Bhoi District)
The North East Slow Food and Agrobiodiversity (NESFAS) team on December 4, 2020 concluded its three-month Eri Weaves Production training in Madanrtiang, Ri-Bhoi district. Altogether, there were 12 participants who took part in the programme.

Two community members learn the art of Eri-Weaves at 55 & 65 years
‘Age is just a number’ is a common saying that we have all heard or have come across in today’s day and age. Fifty-five-year-old Wing Lamare and 65-year-old Elistra Lamare are two senior citizens of Madanrtiang community, Ri-Bhoi district who are popularly known to have devoted their entire lives to rearing silkworms from a very young age.

The pilgrimage of a few: Mawpynthymmai sets as model community
Mawpynthymmai: An hour away from the road, sitting at the foot of a hill, lays this small community of 23 households. In 2008, a group consisting of three families moved away from their original community to the hill which lies opposite to theirs to start a new community with new mindsets and new beliefs.
