Sticky Rice

Kba Shulia

White sticky rice, commonly known as Glutinous rice, is found across the state of Meghalaya. Locals around here consume the rice by dipping it in a hot cup of tea. It could be considered as one of the most important grains since it is consumed by the half of the world population. It is also known as sweet rice or waxy rice and is commonly found in Southeast and East Asia, which has opaque grains, very low amylose content, and is especially sticky when cooked. It is called glutinous in the sense of being glue-like or sticky and it does not contain gluten.
