Rice festival – cum-Mei – Ramew Phawar Competition

Through this event, our aim is to display and document the different indigenous varieties of paddy from different participating communities, including other regions of Meghalaya. We will also be having seed exchange, initiation of seed saving practices, value-added rice products, and most importantly knowledge exchange, through this platform.

Phawar Competition: Bonding one community with another and most importantly, bringing the youth together under one platform to express their views and thoughts on issues concerning indigenous food ways, environment, culture and people, through their ‘Phawars’ (couplets).
