“The news of the passing of Wg.Cdr. Akhil Kapoor (Retd) has been received with shock and a feeling of immense loss for all partners working together for improving the health of the people through traditional food. Indeed, in losing Akhil, the entire Slow Food India Network has lost a strong and positive driver for good, clean, and fair values.
The indigenous communities who we represent and the Indigenous Partnership (TIP) with NESFAS, have lost a true friend, who had the understanding and the emotional intelligence to value our ways and be sensitive to the inclusion of our knowledge systems in the fight for a better tomorrow. Akhil’s commitment and passion were essential ingredients that marked his presence not just in the India Network but also in the enthusiastic participation with his wife and Co-Founder of C.Green, Himanshu Kapoor that spelled the success of our collaborative showcase at the Indigenous Terra Madre 2015 in Shillong and we will always be grateful for that.”
