The NEAT Fest 2014 kicked off following a gala inaugural ceremony. Soon enough, people were flocking to the rows of stalls set up there, all displaying agro-based specialties from various North Eastern states. Bhutan also had its representation at the Festival.

Popular products included fresh vegetables from shifting cultivation fields, pickled goods, grains, seeds, fruits, handloom and handicrafts, food items and even bamboo furniture.

The NESFAS stall featured the shiahkrot tea and millet banana cake served with sohiong sauce. On day 2, the Nongtraw community from East Khasi Hills joined in with products sourced from their own village.

The festival will continue to the 5th of September 2014, so there is time yet for buyers to get their hands on some interesting products.
