The Asian Confluence, Shillong, on Friday saw the meeting of young minds through a talk on “Innovative ways to protect and promote unique citrus varieties in the state of Meghalaya” organised by NESFAS. Offering his expertise on citrus to the event was agronomist Prof. Dr. Francesco Sottile from the University of Palermo, Department of Agricultural and Forest Sciences, Italy. Participating youth included students from University of Management and Technology, nutrition students from Martin Luther Christian University and PHD students of North Eastern Hill University.

Dr. Sotille introduced the students to the Presidia project of Slow Food and also spoke about the two nominations for

Presidia from Meghalaya, the Khasi Mandarin and the citrus honey.
